Our work

General elections are held every three years. A lot of work goes into running parliamentary elections, both in election year and in the years between elections.

There are three phases in the 3-year cycle for a general election:

  • reviewing and reporting on the previous election
  • designing, testing and improving systems for the next election
  • delivering the election.

Planning is underway for the next general election, which is due to be held in 2026.
